Choosing a baby seat is at least a little easier than choosing a baby name, but there are still an awful lot of baby seats to choose from!
So where do you begin? As with everything else it’s safety first and foremost. Babies up to the age of twelve months are required to travel in a rear facing car seat, fitted with a five point harness. First you need to decide whether to invest in a straightforward rear facing seat or a combination seat, (which you’ll be able to use as a forward facing seat when the child hits the right age and / or weight).
Just make sure it fits your vehicle too! Baby seats are available in different sizes to suit different size babies and different size cars, so try to find one that satisfies both criteria.
If you’ve already begun colour co-ordinating your young boy or girl, you’ll be glad to hear that baby seats are available in a range of colours too. Blue for the boys and pink for the girls is a safe starting point, but there are plenty more options available to you.
In terms of extras, you’d be well advised to look for removable washable covers. (Just in case of little ‘accidents’.) You might also consider the merits of a convertible baby seat – just add a compatible stroller for an all-in-one travel ready buggy.
Lastly, you can buy in comfort and buy in confidence. Our suppliers supply the latest ranges of baby seats, and they’re all available online.
